Hector is a licensed architect in Canada with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC) and Peru. He currently resides in Vancouver. He holds European Masters in; Diagnosis and Rehabilitation of Buildings, University of Seville (2009-10) and Urban Revitalization, Polytechnic of Lublin (2011). Plus further postgraduate studies in the fields of Culture and Development, Turin School of Development (2004), and Management of Heritage Buildings, University of Lund (2005-06).
For several years Hector worked in Peru prior to working for architectural firms in British Columbia. Hector’s expertise ranges from contemporary design to heritage conservation. He has worked in international projects for the Getty Conservation Institute in Los Angeles and is an active member of the National Trust for Canada and ICOMOS Canada.
Hector is an independent scholar having contributed for specialized journals from Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Italy and Canada. He has presented at the University of Lima, Heritage British Columbia and the Project for Public Spaces' (PPS) Placemaking Leadeship Forum.
